Spatio-temporal Dynamics Of Urban Land Expansion Based On The Structure Of Land Economic Density

With the growing shortage of land resources,the national policy of land use and management was set to activate stock and control increment strictly.How to distribute the limited increment index for intensive development and efficient utilization is the key to the control of land development intensity,which sets higher requirement for smart expansion.The structure of urban land economic density not only shows the diversity of economic agglomeration degree in different regions,but also reflects the economic efficiency of urban land-use during the rapid development period.From the perspective of land economic density,the study of urban land expansion which based on the structure of land economic density aims to deal with the economic efficiency problem in land expansion process.Starting from structure of land economic density,this thesis takes empirical study on index and spatial characteristics of urban land expansion under different scales during the rapid development period(2000-2012)of Hubei Province,which includes the following four aspects.1)To fill knowledge gaps on spatial characteristics under the background of land economic density index and land scale,this thesis extracts spatial data of urban built-up area in Hubei Province via satellite remote sensing image processing and decision tree modeling based on normalized index,which breaks through the long-standing scale bottleneck of land economic density research.The scale of basic spatial unit extends from the traditional city region to county region.2)According to the characteristics of land economic density distribution showed in the evolution of time and space,such as quantile stability difference,administrative bulwark and bound decline,as well as dynamic difference of local regions among multi-space regions and agglomeration trend,this thesis puts forward hypothesis of volatility in land economic density evolution for county regions and the precondition,then classifies the evolution types of land economic density.3)From the holistic perspective of Hubei Province,this thesis dissects the urban size distribution characterized by land-use,and also takes empirical summarization for size distribution and its evolution properties such as hierarchy,proportionality and individual dynamic.The results not only confirm the qualitative estimate of and economic density structure,but also prove that individual common characteristics agree with the spatial and economic development situation under the volatility hypothesis of land economic density evolution.4)From the individual perspective,this thesis focus on spatial structure,morphological characteristics and spatial differentiation in urban expansion process within county scale.The typical space expansion characteristics confirm the consistency of individual economic level,economic location,land expansion intensity and spatial characteristics in the context of land economic density.
