Seals are widely used in petroleum,machinery and other industries' engineering equipment,the performance of seals directly affects the safety and reliability of equipment,so that the performance of seals needs to be detected to determine the stand or fall of seals.Today,the detection for seals' performance tends to detect the performance of reciprocating shaft seals.The durability and friction performance of seals are important factors in evaluating the performance of seals.In this paper,combining with the actual using requirements of seals in the engineering equipment,the detecting system for the performance of seals was developed,the system can be used to detect the durability and friction performance of reciprocating shaft seals in high-pressure condition.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The detecting system for performance of seals was designed,and the detection principle and control principle of the system are introduced.It was determined that the leakage rate of seals is detected in the durability test,and that the starting friction force and the dynamic friction force are detected in the fiction performance test.The experiment process of detecting system was designed,upper and lower machine composed of Kingview and PLC was used to achieve the automatic operation and detection.(2)PLC software of control system was developed,PLC program designing adopted modular design method on the basis of experiment process.The measuring data of leakage and friction was obtained by utilizing PLC program combined with the moving average filtering algorithm,and leakage algorithm,friction linear transformation algorithm.The environment of seal test was detected and controlled by using PLC program combined with the temperature linear conversion algorithm,the inverter analog control output algorithm,the motion parameter algorithm.The hardware of the control system was configured and the main circuit and control circuit are designed.The automatic control of detecting system was realized eventually.(3)The man-machine interface was designed by Kingview on the basis of experiment process and PLC program,so that the automatic operation of seal performance test device and automatic detecting of test parameters can be achieved in the man-machine interface,and the detection system can have a certain man-machine function,.(4)The main components of the leakage measurement error of the detection system were analyzed theoretically and modeled.The theoretical model of the leakage measurement error was obtained by using the root of square sum to synthesize the main components.According to the actual situation,the measurement error model was simulated,the parameters of leakage detecting system were optimized.the limit error of leakage measurement of the detecting system was obtained.(5)The durability and friction performance of the O-ring were tested by the test device of seal performance,the data of leakage rate and starting friction force,dynamic friction force of the O-ring were obtained.Test showed that the detection system can be used to detect the durability and friction performance of seals,and it can do accurately detecting in high degree of automation.
