Using the momentum conservation principle,the Davis gun replaces the traditional anti-recoil device on the gun with a balanced body,which effectively solves the technical problem in the design of the anti-recoil device under the condition of high the higher muzzle kinetic energy,and realizes the ultra-high speed firing of larger caliber and larger mass projectile.In this study,the design theory of interior ballistic and design scheme of modular charges of ultra-high speed and larger caliber Davis gun are studied and the internal ballistic theory and mathematical model are established according to the designing requirements of a research project.In addition,we also developed the design scheme and evaluation criteria of the Davis gun,and the feasibility and rationality of the criteria were discussed through the experimental verification.The research content of this paper is a solid foundation for the wide application of Davis gun in the ground test of various weapon warheads such as sea,land and air.The major works were done in this thesis as follows:(1)Based on the classical interior ballistics theory,we not only established the mathematical and physical model of the interior ballistics in the ultra-high speed and larger caliber Davis gun,but also simulated it using the Runge-Kutta.Thus we obtained the rules of the gas pressure,the combustion of the propellant,and the law of motion of projectile and balanced body.(2)This paper puts forward the ballistics design scheme and the evaluation criteria of the Davis gun with a new parameter than is "charge utilization per barrel capacity"(3)The design of the modularized tubular propellants structure and the multi-point technology of ultra-high speed and lager caliber Davis gun were completed.Through the test,1710m/s firing speed was achieved under the condition of 166kg projectile mass,which met the designing requirements of the research project.(4)The test results not only show that the modularized tubular propellants structure and the multi-point technology of ultra-high speed and lager caliber Davis gun are safe and reliable,it also proved that the "charge utilization per barrel capacity" can be taken as the evaluation criteria of the design of the Davis gun.
