Comparative Study On Quality Control Specifications Of Concrete Structures For Construction Projects In China And Saudi Arabia

With the rapid development of international engineering business,chinese-funded enterprises have encountered more and more problems in overseas project contracting.In the international engineering construction market,the difference between Chinese and foreign standards and codes is an urgent problem to be solved at present.The reason for many quality problems of projects is not the construction,but the difference in the requirements of codes.In addition,due to different standards,Chinese contractors are unable to optimize the cost of materials,machinery and construction management,and the profit margin of international engineering business is generally lower than that of internationally renowned contractors.With the promotion of "One Belt And One Road" strategy,it is more and more important to connect China’s norms with international mainstream standards.The Saudi Building Code is prepared by the Saudi national committee of Building codes and consists of a series of laws,administrative and technical regulations and requirements that state the minimum standards for Building construction,with a view to ensuring the minimum requirements for public safety and health.From the perspective of the contractor,this paper chooses the construction codes of China and Saudi Arabia as the comparison.First of all,this paper analyzes China’s construction engineering standard system and Saudi Arabia’s construction engineering standard system.The research shows that China’s construction engineering standards are divided into many categories according to major,but relatively scattered.Mandatory standards are excessive and interspersed with existing standards and pending standards.Our country’s voluntary standards are attached to the mandatory standards only stay in the description of technology,and the mandatory standards hinder the application and progress of new technology and new methods.Secondly,based on the concrete structure engineering construction code of China,this paper compares the formwork engineering,reinforcement engineering and concrete engineering of concrete structure of Saudi Arabia’s construction engineering code,and puts forward the differences and conclusions.
