Saudi’s Energy Policy Adjustment And Its Influence Since Salman Came Into Power

As a major energy country in the world,Saudi Arabia’s energy income has always been an important economic pillar,but the current global energy pattern is undergoing great changes.Traditional energy producing countries,especially Saudi Arabia,which relies heavily on oil and gas exports,have to seriously think about their survival and future development.Saudi Arabia has also taken measures to adjust its energy policy to adapt to changes and promote its own better development after King Salman became king.Saudi Arabia’s energy policy adjustment is an important component of its economic reform.Although it is still facing many unknown factors,it is of certain reference significance for China’s future energy strategic direction to understand the motivation,measures,logic and possible impact of Saudi Arabia’s energy policy adjustment.This paper first reviews the development of Saudi energy policy after the nationalization of the oil industry and the formulation of its own energy policy,which lays a foundation for the study of the adjustment of Saudi energy policy since Salman came into power.Then through the analysis of the Saudi energy policy adjustment to focus on the downstream development of the oil industry,the focus of trade in the Asia-Pacific,to intensify energy transformation and improve the "Opec Plus" measures and the characteristics of Saudi energy policy adjustment.On this basis,by analyzing the internal demand and external driving factors of Saudi Arabia’s energy policy adjustment since Salman came into power,the impact of Saudi Arabia’s energy policy adjustment is analyzed and predicted.Finally,the author makes a comprehensive analysis and consideration of the influence of Saudi Arabia’s energy policy adjustment on Saudi Arabia itself,the Middle East,the international energy pattern and geopolitics.Based on Saudi salman governing energy policy review before and after he ascended the throne,salman Saudi energy policy adjustments,motivation and influence on the basis of comprehensive analysis and exposition,concluded that Saudi national development and survival of logic has changed;the second point is the Saudi energy transformation of the purpose is to reduce the resistance to the development of traditional energy sources,Its willingness to participate in global carbon neutrality is not entirely active;Third,Saudi Arabia will continue to rely on the advantages of traditional energy to maintain its international political and economic status in the short term;Fourth,its global geopolitical status will first improve and then decline in the future.
