Design About Adaptive Reuse Of The Zhizhi Building In Nanjing Science And Technology University

The 21st century is a period when architectural design changes from "construction era" to"maintenance era",also from incremental design to inventory design.It is an inevitable trend to study and design existing buildings.In the 1980s,with the restoration of the college entrance examination system,a large number of school buildings were built,usually for functional purposes,with neat and uniform architectural space,simple and efficient.Now,these buildings are unable to meet the new needs,so they are facing with the fate of adaptive reuse.Zhizhi building,which is in Nanjing university of science and technology,is built in this period.Zhizhi building was used as school library at once.With the building of the new library,the Zhizhi building idle.Nowadays,the school decided to rebuilt Zhizhi building as the college building,making this the middle-aged building with renewed vigor and vitality.The project is the actual project that the author participated.Through to the Nanjing Zhushan primary school old canteen renovation project,the college building of Tsinghua university architecture departure renovation project,the department building of architecture,Inner Mongolia university of technology renovation project,and the research on the current status of the Zhizhi building,the author will rebuild the function,space and indoor interface of Zhizhi building,.In this way,the Zhizhi building(old library)of Nanjing university of science and technology is designed for adaptive reuse,so that the transformed building can not only meet the needs of the school of mechanical engineering,but also fully reflect the temperament of the building itself.By comparing the new with the old,the dialogue between the present and the past can be properly expressed.Through research and design,the adaptive reuse of such school buildings built in the 1980s and 1990s can be inspired.This paper is divided into two parts.The first part is about the design research of this project,and the second part is about the results,including relevant technical drawings and rendering drawings.The first part consists of four chapters:The first chapter starts from the selection of topic,analysis of background object,method and content of design research.The second chapter introduces the general situation of the project.In addition to the basic site information and the surrounding it focuses on the assessment of the current situation of the building and the interpretation of the mission statement.The third chapter is the case study.Selected case study have different emphasis,including project research on reconstruction of Nanjing Zhushan primary old dining room focused on the functional replacement,the college building of Tsinghua university architecture departure renovation projectfocused on the update of space,the department building of architecture,Inner Mongolia university of technology renovation project focused on the update of the interface.The Three project are focused on three different dimensions.The fourth chapter is the project design,which introduces the design concept of the project,studies and analyzes of the current situation from function,space and interface,and giving the corresponding design strategy.The last part is related to the drawing results,including technical drawings,renderings and part of the node practice.
