The segmenting and casting type aircraft radome forming mold of composite components is currently completed the structural modeling by the tooling designers who generally use the CATIA,but the cumbersome design process results in low design efficiency and long cycle time.In order to improve the situation,combined with the knowledge and experience of tooling designers,for the phenomenon which the surface extracted from the originally digital mold of the forming mold exists the holes and large local curvature,through the study of automatic identifying and filling technology for surface holes and the equidistant offset technology for surface,the forming surface of the forming mold are repaired and equidistantly offset to generate the inner surface of the forming mold.Through the study of parameterized design technology,the structure of forming mold is modeled.On the basis,combined with the secondary development technology of CATIA,a parameterized design system of the forming mold is developed.It is the main job contents that are as follows:(1)For the segmenting and casting type forming mold,the structural characteristics and modeling requirements are analyzed,and the input features and parameters which are needed for modeling are extracted.(2)When modeling for the structure of the forming mold,the influence of the existing holes on the forming surface is analyzed.An automatic holes recognition algorithm and a holes filling algorithm are put forward to eliminate the holes on the forming surface.The self-intersection problems that may appear in the equidistant offset of the forming surface are analyzed.A method based on dividing of the triangular mesh is put forward to generate the equidistant offset surface.(3)The parameterized design method based on program driven is studied.According to the parameterized design flow of forming mold,the modeling of forming mold structure is completed by combining the input features and parameters required for modeling.According to the features of stiffeners and bolt holes,the generating methods about the stiffener profile of two types are put forward to generate stiffener features,and a distribution algorithm about bolt holes center is put forward to avoid interference between stiffeners and bolt holes.(4)Based on the above research,the parameterized design system of the segmenting and casting aircraft radome forming mold has been developed with CAA on the CATIA V5R18 platform.It has been initially applied to the design of the forming mold.
