Most of the culvert water conveyance pipelines now use cast-in-place reinforced concrete circular culverts or concrete cover culverts.But with the popularization and application of concrete pipe and culvert,the characteristics of concrete material and the requirement of harsh environment on pipe and culvert increase,which exposes the problems of short service life,poor durability,easy dislocation of joint and high comprehensive cost.In the 70 s of last century,fiber glass reinforced plastic sand pipes were developed.At present,the world is actively promoting glass fiber reinforced plastic composites.As a new type of flexible pipe material,it has many excellent properties,such as long life,corrosion resistance,high stiffness,easy to form and so on.It is undoubtedly an ideal material to replace the traditional reinforced concrete pipe culvert.In this paper,the design and construction of glass fiber reinforced plastic(FRP)sand pipe culvert in a highway overhaul project in Chengde City of Hebei Province are studied.Taking the glass fiber reinforced plastic pipe culvert with sand as the research object,the mechanical characteristics of the culvert under load are analyzed by ANSYS WORKBENCH.Based on the results of indoor simulation test and numerical model analysis,some suggestions on the structure design and construction technology of FRP pipe culvert are put forward.The main contents of the research are as follows:(1)The research status of FRP sand-entrained pipe at home and abroad is analyzed,and the research achievements of domestic and foreign scholars on the mechanical properties and engineering application of FRP sand-entrained pipe are summarized.The raw material characteristics and production process of FRP sand-entrained pipe are introduced.(2)Combining the advantages of ANSYS software,according to the laboratory test,a numerical model of pipe-soil structure with equal proportion is established to verify the feasibility of the numerical model.On this basis,the mechanical properties of FRP pipe culverts under different working conditions are simulated and analyzed by changing the model parameters and load position.(3)Based on the results of indoor simulation test and numerical model analysis,some suggestions on the structure design and construction technology of FRP pipe culvert are put forward.(4)Based on the actual construction process of a highway overhaul project on Provincial highway,the paper puts forward some suggestions on the construction technology of FRP pipe culvert with sand in it.
