The Organic Integration Of Tradition And Modernization

With the accelerated development of economic globalization,cultural exchanges between countries are increasingly frequent,a large amount of culture pours into China,and it blends with the native culture of China.As a part of culture,interior design has to accept the foreign input and influence inevitably.Nowadays,Chinese interior design presents a situation of symbiosis of various cultures,however,native culture of China has not been inherited and developed well.Therefore,how to integrate tradition and modernity and integrate the traditional elements into modern interior design is a topic which worth deep study.Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound so that it contains abundant design elements,which convey the unique artistic style and aesthetic idea of a nation.They are all potentially creative sources,which can be applied to modern interior design to achieve the innovation of interior design and the inheritance of traditional culture,that is also the purpose and significance of this paper.From the perspective of study on traditional elemental and symbols with profound cultural connotation,their application in modern interior design is studied in this paper.First of all,define and extract the traditional element and symbols,and analyzes the internal relations between them and modern interior design.Then combined with a large number of practical cases,application of different elements and symbols in modern interior design is analyzed and researched.Then elaborate on the specific application and expression issue in actual cases in order to sum up the commonness and individuality of the fusion methods of elements and symbols.On this basis,the paper summarizes the innovative principles and methods of the fusion of traditional elements and symbols and modern interior design.This paper focuses on the modern expression of Chinese traditional elements and symbols.Through the study on this topic by literature research,case analysis,field investigation and inductive analysis,finally,come to conclusion that the application of traditional elements and symbols in modern interior design should be fusion,innovation and the combination of ancient and modern,rather than simply elements piling up or mechanically applying.To inherit and innovate Chinese traditional culture in modern interior design,the key to the fusion of architecture component,furnishings,auspicious patterns,colors and other traditional elements and symbols,is to adhere to the principles of "keeping both appearance and expression","keeping pace with time","harmonization","appropriate application","digesting".Specific methods are "constitution and organization of form"," borrowing emblem "," transformation and refinement of color "," innovation and change of materials "," integration of traditional architectural space concepts and practices ".
