Research On Demand Driven Fleet Assignment

In order to sell tickets in advance,the initial fleet is assigned to each flight during the flight planning stage.But the demand for flights fluctuates over time,and if the model is fixed,it may cause imbalance between the airplane capacity and demand.Therefore,airlines can adjust their initial fleet assignment based on sales data from the beginning of selling tickets to three days before departure.The dynamic fleet re-assignment is to reassign types of flight when improved demand forecasting becomes available.This paper is divided into two parts.The first part establishes the BP neural network demand forecasting based on the sales data.The second part,revisions to the initial fleet assignment become pertinent when the capacity differs from demand forecasting by BP neural network.The initial aircraft lines,constituted by inaccurate demand forecasting,will be replaced by new aircraft lines that are built according to the round-trip flight adjustment unit using the enumeration method.We can select better aircraft lines and re-assign airplane capacity,so as to minimize passenger overflow costs and flight empty seat cost.
