The problem of marine biofouling has been restricting the development of marine economy,especially when China vigorously develops the marine economy,and the negative impact of marine biofouling is particularly profound.Marine anti-fouling coatings occupy a high market share in the anti-fouling field as a current technology and a mature and significant anti-fouling method.However,the process of anti-fouling coating development is as follows: the synthesis and testing of antifouling agents,the compatibility test of antifouling agent and matrix resin,and coating performance test.There are many defects such as risks,high difficulty and long operating time in R&D process.In order to save expense and shorten the development cycle,the combination of laboratory test methods and actual sea plate test can effectively evaluate the property of anti-fouling coatings to provide more effective and direct data,supporting for the development and performance optimization of anti-fouling coatings.The study chooses 7 kinds of the most widely used marine anti-fouling coatings in the market.A coating construction process is developed according to the technical details of anti-fouling coatings,and the test plate coatings are prepared.Afterwards testing and measuring the surface morphology and contact angle of coatings.are conducted.The paper shows the laboratory static immersion test and a one-year actual sea plate test in Qingdao,Taizhou,Xiamen and Wuhan Yangtze River,which evaluate performance of anti-fouling coatings and putting forward improvements.In Xiamen,different immersion depths are selected to carry out the immersion test to study the distribution of fouling organisms in the vertical direction.Finally,the best antifouling coating of Xiamen station is selected to spray the ship model to test the effect of paint on the total resistance of the ship with the towing test of ship model.Microscopic observations show that the coatings are complete,and the result of contact angle measurement shows that there is a difference in the contact angle between the different coating layers.The results of actual sea plate test show that 7 kinds of anti-fouling coatings in 4 stations have different anti-fouling capacity:(1)The result of one-year test in Qingdao sea area shows the overall anti-fouling effect of P1-P6 is better,and P7 cannot prevent Bryozoan attachment;(2)In Xiamen sea area,7 kinds of anti-fouling coatings are cyclical in the prevention and control of Algae,and P1 can not resist the adhesion of large fouling creatures;(3)The result of 6-month test in Taizhou sea area shows P2-P6 have excellent anti-fouling ability for Algae and large fouling creatures;(4)The result of one-year test in Wuhan Yangtze River shows 7 kinds of coatings are suitable for the prevention and control of freshwater fouling organisms.The result of the laboratory static immersion test shows that 7 kinds of coatings have high antifouling ability for Diatoms,but there are differences in the timeliness of preventing Algae attachment,P1 is the best coating,and the order of anti-fouling ability of the coatings tested in the laboratory is not consistent with that of offshore plate test.The result of actual sea plate test at different immersion depths in Xiamen sea area,shows the anti-fouling capacity of the test plate below 1.1 m is obviously better than that of the middle.And upper test plates whose biofouling is mostly same,Algae creatures,Barnacles,Sea sheaths,Mollusks and other fouling organisms are concentrated in the middle and upper plates.The result of the towing test of ship model shows,P3,as a best antifouling paint,which prepared on the basis of the matching coating construction process,has a slight effect of drag reduction.
