With the proposed of energy saving and emission reduction task,the energy consumption problem of the belt conveyor is always considered to the focus of public attention.Compared to other transportation equipments,the belt conveyor has the advantages of wide application range,long transmission distance,high efficiency,is widely used in ports,coal,metal,mines and other industries.The development of belt conveyor is towards long distance and large volume.The belt conveyor which is supported by many rollers,has many problems,such as high resistance,high energy consumption,limited speed.The practice shows that more than 70% of the energy consumption comes from the friction between the belt and the roller and the friction of the rollers themselves.These two energy dissipations belong to ineffective work.These problems mainly originate from the mechanical bearings in the traditional roller.Because of the serious wear bearing,the rotational resistance of the supporting roller will become large,increase the friction between the conveyor belt and roller.And it will limit the transmission capacity,increase power consumption,lower economic efficiency.Therefore,to solve the energy consumption from the mechanical friction,can increase economic benefit,save energy and protect environment.So in this paper,the permanent magnetic bearing(PMB)technology was applied in the belt conveyor.The PMB has the advantages of no friction,low energy consumption,no noise and so on.Firstly,the structure of maglev roller was studied.According to the actual working conditions,the design and calculation of the maglev roller was completed.The side roller and sealing structure was analyzed.On the above basis,maglev roller was focus on the research of the design and analysis of the PMB.According to the equivalent magnetic charge method,the mathematical model of the PMB was built,and the parameters of the PMB were analyzed.The supporting characteristic was also analyzed.And then the supporting capacity and magnetic field distribution of the PMB were analyzed by the finite element method.The result between the equivalent magnetic charge method and the finite method has a certain error,but the designed PMB from the equivalent magnetic charge method could satisfy the requirement of the maglev roller.According to the design of the maglev roller,the prototype and the experimental platform were completed.Aim at the working characteristics of the maglev roller,the experiment of the supporting characteristic was carried out.Compared to the supporting stiffness from the theory and experiment,the maglev roller was feasibility.And then the analysis and calculation of the rotational resistance were carried out.The rotational resistance of the maglev roller and ordinary roller was measured at different rotational speed.The results show the maglev roller could effectively reduce the rotational resistance,could save energy and protect the environment.This research could provide a reference for the engineering application of the maglev roller.
