As one of the most constructed category of architecture in the city,high-rise office buildings are closely related to people's daily life. For those who stay in high rise office building for the most of day time, the quality of inner space makes essential influence both on their physics and mind.As this type of building is currently lacking in the variety values of the inner space, the "office syndrome" of various manifestations has plagued people in the building. The use of atrium in the interior of buildings has a strong ability to recreate space, and its application in multi-storey buildings has a very mature expression.Relatively speaking, the high-rise buildings, especially the high-rise office buildings, are often difficult to use the atrium space as a design method because of the constraints of the space mode and the development requirements.Based on these considerations, this dissertation will focus on the idea of reasonably constructing atrium space in high-rise office buildings.Combined with the design and adjustment of atrium space in the design process of Zhongyuan bank building,a rational understanding is formed from two levels of both theory and practice. The dissertation will firstly analyze the formation of the atrium space under the model of high level office buildings, and then discuss how to make the atrium optimize the space under this framework. The third or forth chapter of the dissertation corresponds to the "high-rise building" attribute and the "office building" attribute of the high-rise office building, which means to explore the characteristics of the atrium and the ways of realizing "optimization" at the space level and the use level. Finally, the design and analysis of the atrium space of Zhongyuan bank building provide a theoretical deduction and summary,in order to provide some help for the future research and design of this subject.
