The toll station,as an important part of the express way,is the main channel of funds for expressway loan repayments.Because the vehicle needs to pay at the toll gate,which reduces its traffic capacity,the toll station becomes the bottleneck of the expressway.Through the analysis of the traffic characteristics of the toll station area,the calculation method of the capacity and average delay of the toll station is obtained,and the lane setting of the toll station is also studied.First,through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature,the toll stations are classified,and the overall layout design of toll stations and relevant parameters of toll lanes are summarized.According to the field investigation of the toll station,the traffic operation of toll station area was analyzed.The speed of the upstream section of the toll station was analyzed,and the velocity change function was built,then the characteristics of the car following behavior,the change behavior and the lane selection behavior were summarized,and the service time,departure time and speed distribution characteristics of the different types of vehicle in the toll station were obtained.Secondly,the capacity of MTC lane,ETC lane and duplex toll lane of toll station was studied based on the above analysis,and the corresponding calculation method was given.A simple and macroscopic method of vehicle delay calculation model was proposed by analyzing vehicle delay.According to the survey data,the traffic model and the corresponding parameters of the toll station were set up in VISSIM,and the capacity and average delay of the toll station were simulated and verified.Finally,the calculation method of lane setting in new toll station was given based on the study of traffic capacity.The toll lane opening number model was established considering cost analysis,and the calculation method for the number of best lane opening for different traffic volume was put forward.For the growth of traffic volume in the future,building new toll lane and the conversion of the ETC/MTC user ratio strategy were put forward to guarantee the service level of the toll station,which provided the basis for the design and operation of the toll station.
