Research On Architectural Decoration Of The China Modern Church Universities In The Yangtze River Delta Region

Starting with the decorative style of architecture,this paper combines the Chinese modern social background and the historical vicissitude,chooses the Yangtze River Delta region where has frequent interaction with western architectural culture.By surveying in the field and collecting others study papers,we analyze the styles and features of decorative forms with interdisciplinary methods like architectural linguistics,architectural semiotics,architectural typology.Taking modern architectural decoration of Soochow University as example,we manger to transform the decoration from pictures to digitized graphs.Then,the characteristics of church universities decoration styles are summarized.Finally,we combine the trend of integration of Sino-western culture,in order to explore the positive significance in protection of church universities,especially the modern architecture of Soochow University.The theoretical basis part of this paper makes clear its research purpose and the meaning,together with a brief narration of some background information of the research about architectural decoration of Chinese modern church university at home and abroad.Based on the special social background in early period of the Republic of China,this paper shows that the invasion of western powers led to the infiltration of western culture.From that point onwards,the architectural cultures from China and western began to communicate in modern times.Combined with the background part,the third and fourth chapterzz are the main chapters of this paper.It analyzes the relationship between architectural style and decoration,sorts out the development vein of decorative style,summarizes the common architectural decoration of the church universities in the Yangtze River Delta region in modern China,conducts a general study on its decorative features,classifies them according to different styles,and emphatically analyzes the decorative patterns.According to the completed classification result,we are expected to finish the collection of modern architectural decoration of Soochow University,displays the decorative patterns in an all-round way with pictures and tables.Meanwhile,we make a further analysis on material,color and technology of decoration.Based on the above analysis results,in the part of conclusion and expectation,the writer not only summarizes the characteristics and value of architectural decoration,but also gives comments to the protection of architectures in modern church universities.
