The design of steel frame joint is the key point in steel structure. The steel tube column with I-beam joint is commonly used in design. It includes inner-diaphragm type and external-ring type, which are generally set horizontally.A kind of vertical-cross stiffened plate joint is studied, which has been used in practical engineering. However, due to the limited research and regulations on this kind of joint, the application of it is restricted. The research on the performance of this kind of joint can provide theoretical basis for engineering design, and has important theoretical significance and practical application value for the design and research on steel frame joints. Therefore, the performance of the vertical-cross stiffened plate joint of steel pipe column with I-beam is studied. The main research contents include the following points.(1)By comparing two groups of theoretical calculations with finite element analysis by FEA software, the accuracy of the FEA software on linear analysis and nonlinear analysis is verified. It can be meet with the accuracy.By referring to the field test data of DIA-2-45-S joint in "Analysis and Design Method of Force Mechanisms of External Ring Plate Beam-Column Joints",a set of finite element models are established to simulate the field test.By comparing the field test results with the FEA.The FEA software ABAQUS is verified, which can be used to simulate the analysis and research requirements.(2)Three groups FEA models with I-shaped beams including inner-diaphragm type joint,external-ring type joint and vertical-cross stiffened plate joint, are established. The mechanical properties and seismic performance of vertical-cross stiffened plate joint with other two joints are compared. The results show that the mechanical and seismic properties of vertical-cross stiffened plate joint is slightly weaker than external-ring type joint, but it is close to the inner-diaphragm type joint.(3)The parametric analysis of vertical-cross stiffened plate joint is done.15 models with 5 different parameters which includes axial compression ratio, pipe diameter ratio, vertical partition width to thickness ratio, vertical partition length and steel girder height difference are designed, and the effects on the mechanical properties and seismic performance of the joints are analyzed. It is found that the increase of height difference of steel beams and or length of vertical-cross stiffened plate have less influence on mechanical and seismic properties, and the increase of axial compression ratio, the ratio of pipe diameter or the ratio of width to thickness of vertical-cross stiffened plate have greater.
