Inner-diameter(ID)slicing is a common method for slicing hard and brittle material.ID saw blade is under load of tension load,centrifugal load,cutting load and thermal load caused by temperature change during slicing.These factors affect the quality of ID slicing significantly.Studying the temperature change,the deformation and the stress distribution of ID saw blade during slicing,and analyzing the variation of cutting load and deformation of the saw blade in the slicing process are of great significance for optimizing ID slicing and improving slicing accuracy.The tensioning mechanism of ID saw blade is rationally simplified and the finite element analysis model is established in this paper.The deformation and the stress distribution of ID saw blade under tension load are studied.The influence of centrifugal load and three-direction cutting force on deformation and stress of tensioned ID saw blade is studied respectively.And the temperature distribution and its effect on deformation and stress of tensioned ID saw blade is analyzed.The variation trend of deformation,stress distribution and temperature distribution of the ID saw blade during slicing is revealed by numerical simulation.The test scheme is determined and the test system is established.The system is simple in structure,convenient to install and adjust,and can simultaneously obtain the signals of the cutting force and moment,the axial deformation of the saw blade,the machine vibration and the noise during slicing.Meanwhile,the rotating speed of the ID-blade slicer is controlled and slices under different parameters are obtained.The time-frequency characteristic of the cutting force and moment,the axial deformation of the saw blade,the vibration and the noise is studied with short time Fourier transform.Variations with time of the cutting force and moment,the axial deformation of blade and the machine vibration are studied and the cause is explained.Surface roughness of slices under different slicing parameters is analyzed.The experimental and simulation results reflect the machining characteristics of the ID sawing from different aspects.Also,the time-frequency characteristic of the machine vibration and the slicing noise with normal and severely worn ID saw blade are compared and analyzed,and the result shows that the wear of the blade can be found by monitoring the machine vibration and the slicing noise.A method is provided for ID saw blade wear monitoring.
