Green packaging means less harmful or even harmless to the ecological environment and human health. It can be reused and regenerated,in line with sustainable packaging. The sustainability evaluation of green packaging solutions is aimed at the whole life cycle of packaging, and the proposed multiple packaging system solutions are evaluated from three aspects of ecological, social and economic optimally. The evaluation of the green packaging solution can not only reduce resource and energy consumption, improve the ecological environment impact, but also promote social and economic sustainable development, and provide a theoretical basis for the relevant management authorities to select and improve packaging solutions. In this paper,we make milk packaging system as the research object, and studies the sustainability of them mainly from the following three aspects:ecological, social and economic. In order to simplify the model, this paper combines social and economic sustainability into a model with the following contents:First, the packaging system is a multi-level,multi-stage,multi-objective integrated system. There are interactions, mutual influences, and mutual coupling relationships between each stage or departments, which will have a certain impact on the overall efficiency level of the packaging system. It is a potential condition that cannot be ignored in the evaluation of packaging evaluation, although the impact conditions do not need to be clearly quantified. In this paper, the packaging system is divided into three sub-phases of packaging raw material acquisition, packaging production and packaging waste processing.Three metrics Packaging sustainability Index(PSI),environmental efficiency(E_p)and impact weight(w_p)are proposed.A three-stage Network Data Envelopment Analysis(NDEA)model was established to evaluate the ecological sustainability of the packaging system, and the feasibility of the model was verified by an empirical analysis of five different milk packaging systems.Secondly, from the perspective of consumers, this paper quantitatively studies the social and economic sustainability of packaging systems, and investigates the satisfaction of Chinese consumers on five kinds of milk packages, and quantifies them as“consumer experience index”(CEI).The CEI combined with the cost and weight of individual packaging constitutes an indicator system for social and economic sustainability evaluation, and proposes the use of standardized quantitative"social and economic sustainability indicators"(SESI)to reflect the social and economic sustainability of different packaging systems. Then we apply the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)method to calculate SESI,and give suggestions for the improvement of SESI's less sustainable packaging. The study provides concrete quantitative and constructive input for future sustainable packaging development. Finally, using the formula method to comprehensively evaluate the above research results,it is concluded that the three aspects of ecology, society and economy are mutually coordinated and mutually constrained, and a compromised green packaging scheme is obtained through mutual compromise and mutual concession.Contribution points of this paper:1.This paper divides the whole packaging life cycle into three phases or components, defines three metrics of environmental efficiency, impact weight and packaging sustainability index, and the three-stage NDEA model is developed to evaluate the sustainability of ecological aspect of packaging;2.This paper considers the cost of packaging, the weight of packaging, the consumer experience and other social and economic indicators, investigates the consumer experience through the form of questionnaires, and analyzes the survey results by principal component analysis using SPSS 17.0 software. The formula method quantifies the survey results as indicator factors and summarizes them into comprehensively evaluation system of the green packaging solution.
