| With the development and transition of modern educational theories,the direction of education in the world’s major cities tends to become concentrated and complex.Foreign higher education has left the ivory tower of traditional education research.Lifelong education,liberal university,interdisciplinary cooperation,integration of industry,education and research,regeneration of city universities,etc.have become the keyword for transition of universities nowadays.Educational system reform has brought opportunities for transition of existing university management system and space.The future higher education tends to pluralism,life time and services.The re-evaluation and utilization of existing campus space has become an important issue.Thus,by analyzing the correlation between public space and learning on campus,the author hopes to assess objectively the spatial patterns of campus activities from a different angle in order to provide some guide for campus construction and space renovation.The thesis is based on the history and situation of campus spatial planning at home and abroad.The author used campus informal learning space as research subject.Application of the theory and methods of urban design in the public space,shared space architectural services,environmental behavioral psychology and architectural pattern language,the authorexplored features of university campus and public space as well as the application of informal learning space,integrated case studies of domestic and foreign film school space and site planningand practical engineering,and investigatedthe establishment and development strategy for informal learning space pattern in film schoolsfrom the Pattern Language perspective.The thesis is divided into six parts:Chapter One:Introduction,research questions.Overview and elaborationon the development of domestic and foreign research background,research purpose and meaning,as well as research content,objectives and methods.Construction of theoretical framework for the whole thesis.Chapter Two:Evolution of campus space.Elaboration on the historical change of campus space at home and abroad.Analysis and summary ofcampus from the initial form to multiplereform the development today,as well as spatial characteristics of each period.Identification of the current situation and problems in university campus planning in China.Chapter Three:Study of basic theory related to campus spatial planning and public space features.The theoretical framework part of the thesis.Discussion of the Pattern Language theory proposed by Alexander,and environmental behavior,theory of spatial places,urban design theory and other knowledge systems.The author extracted arguments about the association with the campus planning from the importance of the university campus communication and the study of public spaces features,which indicates its guiding role in the developmental process of the campus.Chapter Four:Composition and characteristics of campus informal learning space as well as planning application pattern of film profession in campus.First of all,interpretation of the form and characteristics of "informal learning" and "informal learning space".Then by comparing between traditional campus planning and informal learning space pattern,the authorproposed the development strategy for the space pattern,and particularly pointed out the space requirements in the film school.Through analysis and summary of the domestic and international film school case studies,the authorsummed up college students’action trajectory,characteristics and the structural sequence of integrated informal learning space.Chapter Five:Design practice of campus informal learning space.The empirical study took place in Beijing Film Academy Tongzhou Campus.It’s the part of verifying theory by practice.Firstly,the author reviewed the development process of the old campus of Beijing Film Academy,analyzed the status of the spatial layout of the old campus and the urgent need to develop a new site.Considering Tongzhou new campus planning requirements and resources and environment surrounding the site,the author made predication about the organic growth of the new school district,focused on campus informal learning space within different categories one by one,and then proposed key points and recommendations for the design.Chapter Six:Conclusions,inspiration and future research.Summary of research on informal learning space applications and design strategies.Description of thoughts and experiences during research process.Finally,the role and significance of this issue in the future design of the study. |
