Global environmental issues, especially the greenhouse effect, are becoming more and more serious at the moment. It is necessary to research on energy saving and emission reduction as well as energy consumption for the shipping industry with large CO2 emissions. For us,this is not only an initiative to benefit all mankind, but also meets our country's call for energy conservation and emission reduction, green and low-carbon life,as well as in line with China's relevant policies and technological development trends. For shipping companies, this is also a great benefit to reduce shipping costs. In this paper, the research on ship energy consumption, energy saving and emission reduction is comprehensively carried out from the two aspects of speed optimization and high-performance track control design.Firstly, the force analysis and the motion modeling of the ship are completed.According to the generating cause of the force, the force of the ship is divided into two groups: the hydrostatic resistance and environmental interference force. With referring to the relevant literatures, the research object ship's force model is established and the disturbance force model is also simulated. With the help of these forces analysis and the idea of MMG separation modeling,a three-degree-of-freedom motion model of the ship's horizontal plane for simulation navigation test is built.Secondly, the ship propulsion system is researched and the fuel consumption model of the ship diesel engine is also established.By analysing the working principle of marine diesel engine and propeller, their working characteristics are summarised.Considering that the ship and the propeller will interact with each other when the ship is sailing, the propeller thrust model is corrected accordingly.Besides, the movement and balance relationship between the hull, the diesel engine and the propeller during the navigation is also studied. And based on these research results, the fuel consumption model of the marine diesel engine is established.Thirdly, the genetic algorithm is completed and the optimization of the ship's speed is completed by the implemented algorithm. In order to solve the problem of speed optimization, the shipping route used in the study is segmented, and the fuel consumption of the ship in the whole voyage is taken as the objective function and membership function of the genetic algorithm. In according to the actual requirements of the speed optimization problem, the corresponding constraints are added to the algorithm.Combined with relevant genetic algorithm theory and relying on genetic algorithm and direct search toolbox GADST,the realization of genetic algorithm in matlab platform is completed. Finally,a ship track control system for ship navigation control is designed and the energy optimization algorithm is verified based on the system. In the design stage of the track controller, the focus is on the fuzzy controller, and the PD controller and the fuzzy controller are innovatively combined by the working mode of conditional switching,so as to make the two controllers complement each other and give full play to their excellent performance. In addition,a segment tracking decision algorithm is proposed in the design to indicate the track controller the target segment to be followed. At the end of the design, the control performance of the designed track control system and the energy-saving effect of the energy optimization algorithm are simulated and verified by simulation test and navigation simulation.
