In railway transportation,internal combustion locomotives,as traction power,occupy a large proportion.Diesel engines,as the heart of internal combustion locomotives,play an important role.In order to measure the performance of diesel engine,before the new diesel engine is put into use,it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate its performance indicators,operation and maintenance convenience and economy on a special test bench.These indicators are complex to determine,and the indicators influence and restrict each other.After the test,data processing requirements are strict.Therefore,there are high technical requirements for the design of diesel engine test bench measurement and control system.In recent years,the rise of virtual instrument technology has made a tremendous impact on the field of traditional instruments.In order to realize the automation of diesel engine test and test data analysis and processing,this research adopts virtual instrument technology and replaces part of traditional test and display equipment with software and hardware resources of computer,which solves the problem of economy and expansibility of traditional test system.Completing a complete set of data processing by computer can not only shorten the research and development cycle,but also greatly improve the efficiency of product development.In this study,the hardware and software parts of the diesel engine test-bed testing system are designed,and the main functions of the test-bed testing system are realized.The selection of hardware and software of the test system is completed,and the software design and development of the whole test system are carried out by using LabVIEW software which is widely used.The system has the main functions of data acquisition,test record,data analysis and processing.In this paper,a fast,efficient,economical and practical locomotive diesel engine test system is proposed and designed based on the actual working conditions of diesel engines and the development needs of the diesel engine test system in the laboratory.The test results show that the system can meet the requirements of the diesel engine test bench.At the same time,the system makes use of the advantages of virtual instrument technology,so that the hardware and software platforms can complete various tests efficiently and flexibly,so it has the advantages of low cost,simple operation,good man-machine interface,and strong extensibility of the system.
