Street space is an indispensable small-scale public space for people's daily life and communication.However,in the modern era of accelerating urbanization,some traditional street spaces are perishing.The only existing street spaces are lack of local characteristics,and are losing the value of image inheritance.In this paper,the imagery features of traditional street space in Chaohu Lake area are classified and excavated in the form of combining theory,method and applied practice,with the help of theories and operational knowledge in the fields of sociology,urban planning,operations research,mathematics and computer science.The paper captures the pattern of streets and lanes which have the most local characteristics and summarizes the principles of street and lane renovation.In addition,the traditional street space around Chaohu Lake which needs to be reformed is selected as a case study to research the applications of the conclusions.Firstly,the imagery features of street space must be understood on a theoretical basis through the elaboration of the concepts of image,street space,traditional villages and towns and the theories of city image and behavior place.So that the basic contents of the place characteristics,classification standards and elements of traditional street space can be comprehended.In the research of street space around Chaohu Lake,there are 4 first-level evaluation index and 11 second-level evaluation index obtained according to four representative traditional street research objects and the five spatial image components of street,including spatial structure,spatial interface,spatial scale,spatial sketch and spatial quality.All these mentioned above build up the evaluation index system of imagery feature of street spaces in Huanchao Lake area.The research adopts data collection methods such as street view photo rating,questionnaire survey and discussion,and takes the evaluation scores of the public and experts aiming at the characteristics of street pattern in the area around Chaohu Lake as the research criteria.The improved AHP-TOPSIS method is used to masterly integrate the public scoring and expert opinions,and the qualitative and quantitative analysis is combined to get comprehensive comparison results of each evaluation index and overall comparison results of the study subjects.according to the data results,the street space classification of the research object and the guidance of the detailed regulation of the street space around Chaohu Lake are analyzed.In the end,the orientation of the overall spatial pattern of the streets and lanes around Chaohu Lake and the suggestions for the specific transformation are put forward as the planning guidance of the regulation of the streets and lanes.Meanwhile,these will provide universal methodological support and reference for the preservation and optimization of traditional street spaces in other regions.In the following steps,according to the analysis results,a special renovation planning scheme based on the imagery features of street space around Chaohu Lake is carried out for the Beizha old street of Zhegao Town,which has the poorest comprehensive evaluation.According to the classification of the rectification intensity of Beizha old street and the guidelines for the rectification of the streets in the Chaohu Lake area in the research results,the planning will be divided into building facade,stone pavement,signage and facility environment as four 4 partial optimization and transformation projects.The business operation value of Beizha old street will be highlighted during the period of optimizing the street pattern,which forms a bilateral improvement of the environment and the economy.
