The engineering design of steel frame residential buildings has been paid more and more attention by designers.The buildings with base isolation technology are also widely used in engineering practice.Base isolation technology is a new technology of flexible connection between superstructure and foundation.There are many kinds of bearings used,and many good performances of friction energy dissipation of friction pendulum bearings are widely used in bridge engineering at present,but there is little research on steel frame residential buildings.In order to explore the isolation performance of friction pendulum bearing in steel structure building,this paper chooses a steel structure residential building as an engineering case,uses finite element analysis software SAP2000 to establish simulation model,uses non-linear time history analysis method,under the excitation of three different seismic waves,two structural models with ordinary rubber bearing and friction pendulum bearing are used in frequent earthquakes and rare earthquakes.The interlaminar shear force,interlaminar displacement,acceleration and other performance indicators are analyzed,and the following conclusions are obtained.(1)The natural vibration period of the isolated structure with friction pendulum bearings is longer than that of the non-isolated structure,which reduces the seismic effect of the structure.(2)Friction pendulum isolation structure has larger displacement between the first two floors than non-isolation structure,but in the 3-6 floors,the displacement between floors of isolation structure is smaller than that of non-isolation structure.The displacement between floors of isolation structure is basically the same,and the mode of motion is close to "whole translation".Compared with non-isolation structure,the maximum displacement between1-6 floors of isolation structure is close,and there is no significant change.The position of X-direction and Y-direction is similar.The time-history curves are similar in shape,which is helpful to ensure the safety of structures under earthquake action.(3)In frequent and rare earthquakes,the use of friction pendulum bearings for isolation can dissipate energy effectively,thus reducing the inter-story shear force and the base shear force.The use of friction pendulum bearings for isolation can greatly reduce the acceleration of the structure,thus weakening the seismic response to a certain extent and weakening the damage to the structure,so as to achieve the purpose of isolation.
