Pakistan is facing 25-40%electricity shortfall and it is decaying country's economic growth which results in a political and social instability.The fact that Pakistan is a country that is full with huge number of natural resources that are unused and they can be used for country's need for at least some eras.Pakistan and China are building a project(OBOR)One Belt One Road which is also known as CPEC which is expected to create a peaceful environment in the region of South Asia.Pakistan has been facing many external as well as internal challenges in the implementation of this project.Nonetheless,this project is known as game changer as it will change the destiny of Pakistan by improving it every field of life.Most importantly it will improve Pakistan's economy that is the root of development in every sector like,regional peace,energy crisis,people to people contacts and infrastructure will be developed.Therefore,firstly this paper presents an overview of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and power projects that are building under it along with a detailed study of different electricity generation resources.Secondly,we will discuss the alternative energy model for Pakistan and how it can be used to improve the country,modeling and analysis of existing energy projects and energy projects of the CPEC are carried out using the LEAP model and the results are compared by also discussing demand for the energy.Next we discuss the risks and challenges of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor from several angles and its contribution and influence to various aspects of Pakistan.Finally,paper deals with the different dimensions of CPEC from different perspectives and analyze its advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges by using SWOT model.This work can be extended in several directions and it also gives answer to many future researches in this field.China Pakistan Economic Corridor is a leading plan of China's One Belt One Road(OBOR)which is going to rotate the economic powers from advanced economies to emerging Asian economies.The primary objective of present study is to find out the impact of CPEC on the energy sector of Pakistan.Moreover,this research article also discusses risks and challenges to the economy of' Pakistan due to CPEC.It is important to highlight major issues related to CPEC.We collected data from research articles,books,newspapers,journals,reports,seminars and different magazines.Pakistan has been facing energy crisis for so long,but $ 35 billion investment of CPEC in energy sector is highly noticeable.This project is playing very important role in all the fields like Transportation,Industrial Parks,Infrastructure Development,Regional Integration,FDI,Employment Opportunities,Tourism and exchange of cultures.There are also many challenges that Pakistan has been facing because of this project like political instability,terrorism and issues like security etc.
