At present, the global energy pattern is undergoing great changes. The global energy supply structure is entering a diversified era dominated by clean energy. However, the current global energy demand still tends to rely on the energy supply mode of Middle East petrochemical resources.China is the world's largest energy consumer, and the high dependence on foreign oil and gas resources is still one of the major bottlenecks and hidden worries in China's energy development. At the same time,China is also facing many problems, such as abundant energy, low per capita possession, obvious regional differences in energy distribution, the energy structure is unreasonable, and increasingly prominent contradictions between energy and resources, environment and social development.China's energy security is facing severe challenges.Under the "the belt and road" initiative,China has vigorously promoted the construction of economic corridors. As the flagship project in "the belt and road" initiative, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has unique potential and advantages in energy development, and has been paid more attention by the governments of China and Pakistan. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is generally considered to have four construction periods.By 2020,the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will basically pass through the early and recent two stages of development. The next step will be to continue to deepen energy cooperation and truly build the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor into an important energy channel.Through empirical research, this paper analyzes the relevant data of China-Pakistan energy cooperation under the construction of China-Pakistan economic corridor, and summarizes the achievements made in the construction of China-Pakistan economic corridor in the first two stages of development in combination with relevant documents. The completed energy cooperation project has eased the dilemma of Pakistan's energy shortage,of which Gwadar Port,as a key cooperation project,is improving its supporting facilities while its geo-economic influence is also increasing.Relevant energy cooperation has brought development momentum to Pakistan and has the potential to radiate and drive surrounding areas, which is also of positive significance for China to get rid of the restriction of the Malacca Strait and ensure energy security. At the same time, the energy cooperation in the China-Pakistan economic corridor is also facing internal and external challenges.Pakistan's infrastructure construction is insufficient, policy support is insufficient, and the domestic security situation is grim.Terrorist forces have had a negative impact on the construction of the China-Pakistan economic corridor. However,China's east-west development is uneven, and whether the western region can bear the heavy burden of the development of the China-Pakistan economic corridor has been tested. The energy cooperation in the China-Pakistan economic corridor itself is also facing the problems of insufficient financial support, shrinking capital investment, low industrial agglomeration, etc. As far as external challenges are concerned, western countries, led by the United States, have doubts and misunderstandings.South Asia's neighboring regions, represented by India, are constantly checking and balancing. The world energy itself is also facing development dilemmas such as fierce competition, great destructive power of energy to the environment, and unbalanced energy governance system. In view of the existing challenges,on the one hand,we should firmly open and inclusive, eliminate misunderstandings and doubts of other countries, and deepen mutual trust and mutual benefit between China and Pakistan. It is also necessary to step up efforts to raise the level of "opening to the west" in western China. At the same time, infrastructure construction should be strengthened from the three dimensions of infrastructure connectivity between China,Pakistan and the two countries.
