For many countries around the globe, economic development seems to have contributed to increases in levels of private car ownership. As the private vehicle population continues to grow,it negatively affects public transport. This has induced traffic-related problems such as road congestion particularly in developing countries.Botswana over the years like most of the countries, has gone through rapid urbanization and registered a steady economic growth and is at a point where the need to establish an efficient public transportation system has become critical. This paper investigates and evaluates the efficiency of the current Gaborone transportation hub.It goes on to discuss problems and measures aimed at improving transport hub designs and their associated constraints and opportunities. The Gaborone Transport Hub,is perhaps a harbinger of chaos to come, unless robust measures are undertaken to revitalize it.The paper is primarily based on the review and analysis of secondary information. The Modex model was employed to evaluate the efficiency of the Gaborone Transport HUB which performed relatively poor and summarised in the radar and bench marked against Hong Kong University Station and New York Grand Central Terminal. The paper then recommended that Transportation Management System measures such as improved access, aggressive promotion of public transport,Rapid Bus Transport System, paid parking across the city overhaul of associated infrastructure and a serious urban design scheme to enhance the image of area to be considered in order to mitigate the current problems of the HUB.Finally, the paper came up with a development framework presented in a map format to show the proposed recommendations.
