With the changing of traditional family structure and the increasing of work pressure,the pace of work and life of urbanites is accelerating.More and more people choose to keep pets as companions and invest emotions and money.The role of pets has changed in modern society.China’s pet industry is expanding year by year,but the developing of pet-related products are still in a tedious,slow iterative stage.At the same time,there are many interests involved in pet supplies.It is necessary to consider the special physiological and psychological needs of pets and to meet the demands of the consumers.Therefore,it is crucial to analyze the needs of users with product-service design theory,transfer the value of users to design and industry and complete reasonable technical allocation,sequentially,produce products and services that are effective and beneficial to the people-pet relationship.Aiming for the welfare of the pet and its owners,this paper finds out the problems that may arise in the keeping of pets,and then as the first in China,introduces psychological measurement tools to allocate initial user group.By using the Lexington Pet Attachment Psychological Scale(LAPS-C)for the attachment psychology study of the early pet owners,it is concluded that the female cat owner is the target-user with the most human-pet relationship improving space.Using scale screening as a quantitative method,with qualitative pre-user research methods to study the psychology and consumer behavior of domestic pet owners,to identify user’s pain points and needs.Secondly,use the framework of the product service system for customer value ranking.The user’s need that the existing products cannot meet was summarized for the element model and the functional model.Finally,combined with the product service system(PSS),the user’s value was mapped out for functional product-service structure and functional planning and design.The final design includes two parts,the design of the projection device and the mobile phone software interface for providing remote monitoring and human-pet interaction.To extend the life of the product,form the iteration of the consumption cycle and content of the service,bid farewell to the waste brought by the disposable pet toy,and improve the close relationship between the pet and the pet.
