The deepening of China's marine power strategy,marine power system is rapidly being developed and innovated.In this prcocess,a variety of marine power plant are researched and applied.As a result,the complexity and diversity of design process are inevitable.In this paper,Simscape language is used to established the basic model base of marine power plant,and a set of design software is developed which can be used for simulation based on the model library.This paper researches on the design idea and methods of marine power plant,including introduction of various components of power system,analysis on possible types of propulsion units and putting forward evaluation methods.Then,according to the modeling theory of Simscape,marine power plant is divided into some subsystems,including prime motor,transmission devices and propeller.The whole power system is regarded as the link of energy conversion and transmission and the port of each module is established with the form of the domain,which is used to carry the important information of the module.In this way,the common character of each system can be found and the scalability of the module can be increased.Then,the general mothod of software development is applied to the development of the design platform of power plant.Steps and methods of the design platform are established and some requirements for the software interface in the design process are put forward.With the user interface function of matlab,the software platform is sucessfully developed,which is able to achieve the selection of the power plant structure,the prime motor configuration,transmission device configuration,propeller configuration,system evaluation and other functions.Several power plants are developed with this platform.In the end,taking the combined power plant as an example,the research on the static matching and dynamic performance of power system is carried out,and the control method of speed and load distribution in the parallel operation is further studied.
