Analysis Of Factors Affecting Urban Household Energy Consumption In China

Energy is the basic material for the development of the national economy.As China’s social and economic level improves,the quality of life of residents increases,and the proportion of household energy consumption in China’s total energy consumption is increasing.In all energy consumption sectors,only After the industrial sector of China’s largest energy consumption.Energy consumption is increasing year by year,which will not only cause problems such as energy resources shortage,environmental damage,climate change,but also affect the sustainable development of China’s society as a whole.Previous studies on energy consumption have focused on how macroeconomic indicators such as national economic development levels,national policies,and urbanization levels affect energy consumption,while research on micro-family levels is relatively rare.In order to more effectively guide families to rationally consume energy,reduce carbon emissions,and build a clean,low-carbon,safe and efficient modern living energy system,this paper uses CGSS2015 survey data to analyze the factors affecting urban household energy consumption in China.The main contents include: first,collecting and sorting domestic and foreign literature;second,combing relevant theories and expounding;third,analyzing the current situation of urban household energy consumption in China,and comparing and analyzing the energy consumption of households in the four major regions;Establish a regression model,and select 8 indicators of family size,family income,family head education,family age structure,energy price,number of home appliances,energy-capacity distance,and residential sunshine time,with the total household energy consumption as the dependent variable.Through OLS regression,the family characteristics,economic factors and location characteristics factors affecting household energy consumption were analyzed.The research findings in this paper are as follows:(1)The consumption propensity of household energy types is polarized,and electricity and natural gas account for 56% of urban household energy consumption,while the proportion of clean and renewable energy such as solar energy and biomass energy is extremely small,accounting for only 2%.(2)Household income,household appliances quantity,family age structure and urban household energy consumption showed a positive correlation.(3)Energy prices and urban household energy consumption showed a negative correlation.According to the above research conclusions,put forward specific countermeasures: increase the development of clean and renewable energy;strengthen energy-saving education,improve residents’ awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection;optimize the ladder energy price policy;increase the research and development of energy-saving home appliances,and advocate residents to use energy-efficient home appliances According to local conditions,give play to the resource advantages of each region.
