Road tunnel lighting is an important guarantee for operational safety.LED has the advantages of good color rendering and fast startup.In recent years,the cost has gradually decreased,and the LED in the tunnel has been applied on a large scale.Different from traditional gas discharge lamps,the color temperature of LED lamps is diverse.In tunnel lighting with different color temperatures,the driving experience is quite different.The main indicators of the existing highway tunnel lighting design are brightness and uniformity.The influence of color temperature on driving safety is less considered.The color temperature index is not clearly defined in the specification.The color temperature selection of the lamp lacks guidance,resulting in random setting of tunnel lighting color temperature.It has a big impact on operation security of tunnels and even brings security risks.Therefore,the paper studies the influence of color temperature in highway tunnel illumination on driving safety.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Starting from the human visual spectroscopy evaluation method,the experiment of color temperature and reaction time of highway tunnel illumination was designed.The different illumination segmentation light environment of the extra-long tunnel was simulated,and 15680 reaction time data were obtained.Through analysis,it is concluded that the reaction time decreases with the increase of brightness.Reaction time is different when the brightness is same and the color temperature is different.(2)The change of reaction time under different color temperatures was analyzed.Through the curve fitting,the mathematical relationship between reaction time and color temperature was obtained.It is concluded that increasing the color temperature value is beneficial to reduce the reaction time and improves driving safety.(3)The effect of driving duration change on reaction time at the same color temperature was studied.The driving fatigue was operationalized by the reaction time.The results showed that the reaction time was shorter when the color temperature was higher,and the fatigue occurred when the temperature was large.The increase of the color temperature can effectively reduce the driving fatigue.Based on the shortest reaction time,the optimal color temperature range for tunnels of different length was obtained.(4)Relying on the super long Zhongnan mountain highway tunnel,compared the reaction time at different color temperatures and the influence of driving time on the reaction time was combined,in order to reduce the reaction time and reduce driving fatigue.Four color temperature combination schemes were designed and verified by experiments.A gradient color temperature combination scheme with the shortest reaction time was obtained.Through the research on the influence of tunnel illumination color temperature on driving safety,the proposed color temperature setting index can effectively reduce the reaction time and driving fatigue and ensure driving safety.It has theoretical reference value for tunnel lighting design.The proposed color temperature combination scheme provides an application reference for the illumination color temperature selection in extra-long highway tunnels.
