Desiccant rotary wheel,namely rotary dehumidifier is a competitive drying facility,which depends upon the vapor adsorption capacity of hygroscopic material to remove moisture from air,and can be applied to industry drying and air conditioning.With its simplicity and high dehumidifier performance,nowadays desiccant wheel is in the spotlight of research.From civil indoor dehumidification to industry drying,desiccant wheel is widely used in our daily life.How to optimize normal desiccant wheel system to get more dehumidifacation is the focus of this paper.In order to realize efficient dehumidification and zero discharge in desiccant wheel system,a novel hybrid cycle based on desiccant wheel and air compressor is proposed.An improved mathematical model to predict the performance of desiccant wheel under the condition of high pressure is established,and performance of the novel cycle is analyzed.Effects of wheel parameters on system performance and optimal operation condition are simulated with use of this model.In addition,a new system under high pressure is designed and established to make experiment which compared with normal pressure.Results show that dehumidification of the new-type desiccant wheel system increases by about 35%.
