In recent years,with the rapid development of civil aviation,the total number of aircrafts and flights has increased.Meanwhile,it has also brought great challenges to the related issues of flight monitoring.The International Civil Aviation Organization and CAAC also put forward higher and more specific requirements for airline’s flight tracking and monitoring.The airline flight monitoring system based on ACARS data faces a series of problems,such as narrow bandwidth of data link,high cost of satellite communication,blind area of signal coverage,delay of message transmission and so on.These problems are difficult to solve in a short period of time.After discussing and studying the above situation,this paper proposes to introduce a more mature ADS-B data.Taking advantage of its highly frequent updates,low delays and low costs,it supplements the traditional ACARS data,designs and implements a flight monitoring system based on ADS-B and ACARS data,which can not only meet the demanding needs of flight monitoring,but also not largely increase the operation costs for airline companies.The main research work of this paper is as follows:(1)The general architecture design of the flight monitoring system based on multiple data sources.In order to meet the demanding needs of flight monitoring by airline companies and take into account the factors such as the design complexity at early stage,the development and implementation cycle and the use and maintenance costs at late stage,this paper proposes a general architecture design scheme of flight monitoring system based on multiple data sources.The logical structure of the system is divided into 4 layers: presentation layer,service layer,business logic layer and data layer.(2)The design and implementation of the scheme based on matching ACARS and ADSB data with flights.Aiming at the problems of using ACARS data as sources of traditional flight monitoring system,this paper proposes and implements a plan to match and combine ADS-B data and ACARS data by using flight information and flight plan.It can not only make full use of the advantages of ACARS and ADS-B data,meet the higher flight monitoring demand,but also not increase too much use and maintenance costs.(3)The design and implementation of active alarm function based on multiple data sources and flight plan data.In the process of daily flight monitoring by airline ground staff,it is just necessary to pay attention to the abnormal flights instead of all the flights,which can not only improve the monitoring efficiency but also raise the attention of the ground staff to abnormal flights to make reaction more effectively when it comes to abnormal situation.Therefore,in this paper,we design and implement the corresponding 4D/15 warning,yaw warning and fuel warning when it comes to lack of location information,yaw and fuel abnormity.(4)In the paper,Bing Maps Silverlight Control is selected as monitoring map to achieve fast iterative development and low maintenance costs,which not only keeps the overall technical consistency of the system,but also meets users’ business functional requirements.At the end of this paper,the necessary evaluation has been done.The implementation of the flight monitoring system in airline companies has also been elaborated.The flight monitoring system based on this design has been used by large domestic airline companies.It proves that flight monitoring system based on multiple data sources has a very high practical value for ground flight monitoring in airline companies.
