Nowadays industrial design encounters abstract decision-making issues that are difficult to quantify and crystallize,such as aesthetics and preference,while Interactive Genetic Algorithm(IGA),a human-machine collaborative evolutionary optimization algorithm,can solve such optimization issues effectively.However,on the one hand,designers can hardly recognize the design issues due to their abstract characteristic;on the other hand,experienced designers may become empirical and ossified during interactive design,leading to a decline in output types and novelty.In theory,here we first analyzed human thinking process in evolutionary operations and summarized the similarities and differences between typical industrial design and IGA.Then,try to use design stimuli to solve thinking fixation,"Text-Scenario-Symbol" spatial mapping strategy was built to solve the temporal cognitive ambiguity,and the cluster strategy was built to solve the spatial cognitive ambiguity.Finally,the kansei,shape feature,shape gene and the parameterization were studied,and the key parameter of the electric vehicle shape was built.In practical,system implementation,experimental verification and design practice are discussed here.First of all,the interactive evolutionary design system of electric vehicle shape was built by MATLAB based on previous design strategy,design coding for electric vehicles and interactive genetic algorithms.Then,effectiveness of IGA strategy in solving the cognitive ambiguity and the thinking fixation issue was tested.Finally,a systematic design with completed system configure,designer comments and design sketch was accomplished based on our current system.This article analyzed issues of cognitive ambiguity and ossified thinking during interactive evolution design,proposed corresponding design strategy,discussed knowledge aboutelectric vehicles and completed interactive evolution design system.Hereby we aim to apply innovative idea into intelligent design via design stimuli,thereby contributing to the development of IGA in industrial design.
