Controllable pitch propeller(CPP)is the critical component of the full rotary propeller and the large offshore positioning platform.Compared with the fixed pitch propeller,it can adjust the main engine speed and pitch at the same time,so that the propeller can achieve the highest efficiency under navigation.When CPP is in service,the hub seal is realized by the O-ring.Studying the controlled leakage of the hub seal is very important to guide the assembly process design and extend the service life.In this paper,the leakage rate formula under static and dynamic seal is derived based on the micro-contact and leakage channel model.The ABAQUS software is used to simulate the three-dimensional finite element simulation of the CPP hub seal.The influence of different parameters on the static and dynamic seal performance are analyzed,such as leakage rate,lubrication film thickness and pressure,and the corresponding process design guidance is given.Finally,the influence degree of parameters is analyzed based on the improved composite gray correlation degree.The results show that the roughness,compression ratio,rubber hardness and medium pressure have an effect on the static seal performance of the hub.The leakage rate increases instantaneously with the increase of roughness,decreases with the increase of compression ratio,increases with the increase of hardness,and first increases and then decreases with the increase of medium pressure.Roughness,compression ratio,rubber hardness,medium pressure,adjust speed and friction coefficient have an effect on the dynamic seal performance,the speed of adjusting pitch has the greatest influence on the leakage rate,followed by the roughness and the pressure of medium,the rubber hardness and compressibility have little influence,and the friction coefficient has the least influence.Rubber hardness and medium pressure have the greatest influence on the average thickness of oil film,followed by roughness and compressibility,and the influence of adjustable pitch velocity and friction coefficient is the least.In this paper,a composite seal structure with better sealing performance and better lubrication conditions is proposed to overcome the disadvantages of O-ring seal.The structural parameters are analyzed and optimized,and it has certain application value by comparison with the O-ring seal.Finally,the leakage clearance of the CPP hub seal of the actual model is predicted,and design an experiment to verify the accuracy of the model and simulation.Providing valuable data support for the CPP hub seal.
