Post-occupancy Evaluation And Design Improvement Of Daytime Service Centers For The Elderly

Aging is a huge problem facing modern China,the pension problem also received extensive attention from all circles of society.At present,there are three main ways of providing for the aged: family pension,community pension and social pension.Because the quantity and quality of social pension are insufficient,it can’t keep up with the needs of the elderly,so a communitybased home pension mode emerged.In recent years,under the guidance of policies,day care centers for the elderly have been set up in various places.However,due to the problems of funds,staff and management,facilities are generally idle and development has stagnated.At present,there are some problems in day care centers,incomplete function,unreasonable space,inadequate staffing,lack of evaluation and access standards for the elderly,and lack of effective evaluation system.Aging is obvious in Shanghai,and there are many attempts in daytime care,while Guangzhou’s aging situation is becoming more and more serious.Therefore,this study selected day care centers in Shanghai and Guangzhou as subjects,hoping to analyze the main factors affecting their performance,with a view to providing suggestions and reference for subsequent design improvements.The study first conducts a pre-investigation through literature and network data collation.,and carries out case use status collation,finds out the characteristics and problems,and establish a satisfaction evaluation system;then carries out spatial satisfaction survey on selected cases through structured interview mode,compare and analyse the satisfaction of existing functional spaces and its main impact.Then,the research demand function space of the aged;researchselect case life behavior patterns of the elderly,the elderly and summed up the relationship between time and space behavior.Through three steps of research and comparative analysis of cases,this paper explores the functional composition and spatial combination mode of day care centers for the elderly,and finally puts forward the optimization mode suitable for the actual situation at this stage.
