Research In Planning And Design Of The Indoor And Outdoor Space For Activities Of Seniors In Elderly Care Center

Aging has become an important issue in China, and has a certain effect on social economic and cultural development. Seniors have plenty spare time after retirement; their demands of convenient, suitable space for indoor and outdoor cultural events are urgently. Respect and love the elderly people is a traditional virtue of all sons and daughters of the Chinese nation, but under dual pressures from career and family, the turndown in psychological emotion and the deterioration in physiological function of the seniors are always overlooked. Elderly care center propose a new mode to support the seniors, which complement and improve the indoor and outdoor space for cultural events of the elderly people, and provide comfortable, convenient, safe and positive space for seniors’activities through rational planning and design. I strain every nerve to create a better and more functional space for indoor and outdoor activities of the seniors in this thesis through multi-analysis of physiological, psychological, behavioral and social demands of the elderly people; categorized interpretation of planning and design of the indoor and outdoor space in elderly care center; comprehensive analysis and rational planning from the macro, meso and micro levels; tentative analysis and design combined with relevant case, which has a high practical value in the developing trend of modern China.
