The traditional assembly way for large aircraft parts mostly adopted rigid tooling,which was of low precision,poor stability and large error.Based on the requirements of digital docking in the large environment,it is necessary to design and develop flexible tools for component docking.The content of this paper is regarding a flexible docking system for wing box assemble in some certain type aircraft.The difficulty of this research lies on the complexity of docking structure,high requirement of assembly precision and coordination accuracy,because of the spatial angle obliquely into the position during the assembly of outboard and the center wing.The purpose of this research aims to carry out the innovation of flexible tooling for component docking,improve the low production efficiency state of rigid tooling in the past,and design a set of digital and flexible docking assembly tooling now.By fixing the central wing and adjusting the attitude of the outboard,the system finally completes the docking between the outboard and the central wing.The numerical controller needs to be designed as a vehicle-borne system,and mechanical equipment and the control software should be integrated,and the vehicle locator must be capable of transportation,posture adjustment and matching function of the wing.In the end,a set of functional test piece of the vehicle-borne digitalized wing flexible docking system was designed,through which the stability and feasibility of the system were verified by using typical wing simulation parts,which provided theoretical basis and experimental data for the production of the certain type aircraft.According to this research,a set of wing box flexible docking system was successfully designed and developed,which was verified through many times of experiments,and could meet all the requirements of production.This research could promote flexible tooling technology development in aircraft manufacturing,and provide reference basis,experience and reference method for the comprehensive digitization of assembly tooling,and effectively reduce the docking error andimprove the precision and efficiency of docking,which has made a contribution for the leap-forward development of the industry.
