Study On The Application Of Productive Landscape In Brownfield Regeneration Based On LA-RtD

In the late 20 th century,the global industrial structure was constantly adjusted with the arrival of the post-industrial era.Many once brilliant industries gradually declined,and the resulting infrastructure wasteland,mining wasteland,Industrial wasteland and other brownfield areas have become major obstacles to urban construction.At the same time,productive landscape has become the focus of research and practice in the field of landscape architecture due to its ecological and economic benefits.Under this background,the renovation of brownfield landscape brings great opportunities to the research and practice of landscape architecture.Therefore,studying on the integration model of productive landscape and brownfield landscape transformation has a great significance for the development of the emerging field of brownfield landscape reconstruction.Based on the new research method LA-RtD in the field of landscape architecture,this dissertation initiates the Designerly Research including three design projects to study the renovation of brownfield landscape.In this study,the research first expands the meaning of“Productive Landscape” from “agricultural landscape” to “agricultural,industrial and informational landscape”,and sums up its “San-sheng“ functions involving Production,Ecology,and living function.Meanwhile,this study analyzes and summarizes the problems and challenges faced by the reconstruction of brownfield landscape in China,and then proposes that productive landscape is an ideal strategy to solve these problems and help achieve the “San-sheng“ goals of brownfield renovation,which are Productive,Ecological and Livable.Finally,three different types of brownfield reconstruction projects are proposed to verify two hypotheses of design method,and also to generate new design knowledge of brownfield renovation.This research is divided into three parts:By analyzing and summarizing relevant research theories and design cases of productive landscape at home and abroad,this dissertation discusses the similarities and differences of the concept of Productive Landscape between China and the West,and reflects on the parochialism of the connotation of productive landscape at present.Then we redefine Productive Landscape and sum up the its three functions,which are production function,ecological function and living function.According to the domestic and foreign cases of brownfield landscape reconstruction,the problems and challenges faced by the current brownfield renovation are analyzed and summarized.It is proposed that Productive Landscape can improve brownfield reconstruction and help to achieve the “San-Sheng” goals,namely production,ecological,and living goals.In this dissertation,two theoretical hypotheses are put forward for the design method of combining the productive landscape with the brownfield reconstruction.The first one is to achieve the combination of environmental remediation and landscape renovation by making use of technological aesthetic.The second is to deduce the periodic and dynamical brownfield renovation process by utilizing the “temporal and spacial”variability of productive landscape.On account of the framework of LA-RtD,two hypotheses of design methods are rethought and verified by two brownfield renovation projects,namely Brownfield Landscape Transformation in Shuanghe Waterfront area,Huanghua City,Hebei Province and Brown field Landscape Reconstruction in Sacramento Waterfront Area,California,USA.Based on the above results,this study carried out the third practical design project Yongqing Oil Park Landscape Design,Bayannuoer city,Nei Menggu Province,and finally obtain new design knowledge,including strengthening interdisciplinary thinking,utilizing technological aesthetics,advocating in-situ restoration technology,promoting public participation and knowledge popularization,and excavating the spirit of place.Above all,this research is beneficial to the development of brownfield landscape reconstruction in landscape architecture.
