A Study On Energy Transition And Sino-saudi Arabia Energy Security Cooperation

Energy transition refers to the decline in the status and consumption of conventional petroleum resources in the energy landscape.In the future,energy consumption will shift to clean,efficient,low-carbon and environmentally-friendly emerging energy.The current changes in the international energy supply and demand pattern and the pressure of climate change are changing the energy security demands of China and Saudi Arabia,and put forward new requirements for the energy cooperation methods of both sides.On the one hand,the international energy market is in a difficult rebalance phase,bringing unprecedented energy security threats to Saudi Arabia.At the same time,climate change poses energy security pressures for both energy supplier and demander.China and Saudi Arabia are no exception.On the other hand,China The proposal of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the setting of Saudi Arabia's “2030 Vision” have created an opportunity for China and Saudi Arabia to deepen energy cooperation.Based on China's advantages in energy cooperation and Saudi Arabia's pursuit of energy security,the two sides have the possibility to expand the breadth and depth of energy cooperation,as well as the necessity to jointly maintain energy security.This thesis argues that China and Saudi Arabia need to seize the general trend of energy transition,use their own development plans and strategies,explore the organic integration of the "2030 Development Vision" and the "Belt and Road" initiative,deepen the cooperation in the field of energy cooperation,expand the space for energy cooperation,promote the state of energy cooperation and work hard in the direction of the “energy security community”.Firstly,China and Saudi Arabia should use bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms in various fields of politics to create a multi-level common point of interest and ultimately form an energy security community.Second,we should promote the full-line cooperation of the energy industry and build deep-level energy benefits.Third,China and Saudi Arabia should expand cooperation in other fields,especially in the fields of infrastructure,finance,science and technology.These ideas and measures will help promote the deepening cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in the energy field under the new situation.
