| In the process of American art development,art museums,art galleries,and art centers form various parts of the American art environment,providing a huge platform for the interpretation of art.The art museum is also considered to be a symbol of the new United States after the 20 th century,a symbol of the prosperity and flourish of a powerful country.Today’s American art museum has the highest number of visits in the world.The derivatives store,which was originally used as an auxiliary facility,has gradually developed into an important role for museums,becoming a unique landscape of art museums,attracting visitors from all over the world.Since China proposed the strategic direction on cultural development in 2011,scholars have been particularly enthusiastic about the discussion and research of cultural and creative industries and products.Museum derivatives have also drawn the public attention,but unfortunately,few of them are specifically targeted at the study of the derivatives of art museums,which is highly related to the hysteresis of art museums in China.From this point of view,the author takes the American art museum as the research object and hopes to explore the path of art museum derivative through the design and development experience and related systems of derivative art museums in the United States.As a basis for the research,this paper first analyzes the history,characteristics and future trends of the American art museum.Only by knowing the development of the American art museum can we further understand the derivatives as a museum extension and how to undertake its mission.The status quo,characteristics and related systems of the American art museum derivatives constitute the core research perspective of this paper.When it comes to the design and development of the American art museum,this thesis will explore from the two angles,design strategy and development strategy.Through a large number of investigations and analysis,this paper summarizes the three major design strategies "visual translation,meaning interpretation and technology integration”,as well as the three development strategies "branding thinking,diversified development,and high-quality precision".On this basis,the author uses Kandinsky’s work in the New York Guggenheim Museum as a source of design and uses the strategic methods described in the article to develop the derivative design and development practices,to present the author’s understanding of the art museum derivative design.The design and development system of the American art museum’s derivatives is sound and innovative.The derivatives have become one of the museum’s most important sources of income.The derivatives of the art museum have been integrated into the purchasing habits of American people,have become a symbol of art and life.With the increasing demand for Chinese culture and art consumption,the derivatives of art museums have great potential.This article aims to provide a good reference for China with the successful experience of American art museum derivatives,to abandon the stereotype that museum derivatives are tourist souvenirs,to develop design ideas and to further boost the vitality of the art museum. |
