| The measurement of beam density plays an important role in beam diagnosis system. In many experiments(e.g.material irradiation and ion implantation),the beam density distributions are urgently needed besides the information of beam position.Nowadays, most of the beam density detectors give the density projection in one direction rather than beam density distributions. We therefore developed a scanning beam profile detector with 128-channel Faraday cup array, which can give the beam density distributions point by point on the X-Y plane. The detector is based on the principle of detecting charged ions with a Faraday cup.A self-developed by the pre-existing multi-channel weak beam current measuring system as well as the data acquisition system were used. The detector could move up and down drove by a servo motor to scan the beam, and thus it is able to measure the beam position and density distributions accurately. The diameter of the beam collimation placed in front of the detector is 0.6 mm,the number of pixels in the region of 75 mm*75 mm can reach to 16384.This detector is mainly for beam tuning and diagnosis at the ultra-low energy heavy ion experimental platform and 320 kV Multidiscipline Research Platform for Highly Charged IonsThe main work of this paper is the design of 128-channel Faraday cup array probe, the compilation of data acquisition program and the test of the detector. The design of the probe includes mechanical design,PCB board design, make GERBER documents and probe assembly.Data acquisition program includes the compilation of servo motor motion control program, data processing program and debugging. |
