Research On Design Of Creative Industry Districts In Shanghai Based On City Context

With the development of the global creative economy and the change of urban land function,creative industry parks in Shanghai have developed in a large-scale development since the 1990 s.Lots of successful creative industry parks occurred in the good environment of Shanghai.However,these parks have to face some problems such as departure of business,lack of creation,worsen of architectures in recent years.This article proposes a new strategy of planning and design to improve the development of Shanghai creative industry districts.First of all,it discusses the current condition of these districts,from the macro environment and the design methods of expressing city context.Then,it identifies the problems and the nature of the problems;After that,it involves a case study of three successful creative industry districts,which refines their planning and design principles.Lastly,the author argues a series of optimize strategy and planning method,which also combines a practical project ——the planning and design of Shanghai Neo-Bay Global Innovation Centre.The whole research aims to provide new ideas and methods to improve the development of Shanghai creative industry districts.
