The extreme scarcity of landscape academic research in the field ofcreative industry gathering areas contradicts the rapid development ofcreative industries and high-speed expansion of creative industrygathering areas, which lends to the vulgar landscape and runs counter tothe purpose of building creative atmosphere.So, to gain the informationand data of landscape quality has become the primary task due to its basicposition in developming and improving the theory of landscape designand optimization.This study selected ten creative industry gathering areastransformated from waste industrial workshops as research objectsthrough the methods based on the theory of “Social investigation andstudy”. To establish quality grade evaluation system of gathering areas’landscape through the trilogy of “Results reference-reconnaissancecorrection-experts confirmation”.and to achieve hierarchical orderweight value of evaluation index system and comprehensive evaluationmodel of landscape quality through the way of analytic hierarchy processand composite index analysis. This study includes two aspects of descriptive research for landscapestatus and landscape quality evaluation research. For the former, it coversfour aspects of visual aesthetic feeling, function rationality, culturalinheritance degree and recreation degree. To manage basic information,historical evolution and situation of landscape for gathering areas throughthe way of field reconnaissance, surveying and mapping, photo taking,field hand-painted and so on. For the latter,to gain the landscape factorquality distribution features and landscape overall quality level formonomer and totality based on comprehensive evaluation model oflandscape quality. To fine out advantages–disadvantages of landscape andthe internal origin of landscape problems based on the current situationanalysis and landscape quality evaluation, and then put forward theoptimization strategies systematically from two aspcets of macroscopicand microscopic view. Finally, put the optimization strategies into use.The results showed that Red Town and SHA Fashion Hub show asⅠgrade, The Bridge8, M50, The Old Mill,2577Creative Countyard andThe New Factory show as Ⅱgrade, SVA Surpass and The Factory showas Ⅲ grade, YOZO173show as Ⅳ grade. Overall, the overall landscapequality is at Ⅲ grade, which is mainly due to the lack of plant landscape,traffic chaos, low degree inheritance of old industrial culture and theinferior suitability of activity spaces.This study screens survey objects innovatively by the way of employing the theory of “Social research methods”,which has improvedthe reliability of the survey datas.At the same time, to get basic datas onthe basis of structure questionnaires according to the theory of LikertScale, that avoid the subjectivity caused by the way of “filled bythemselves after interviews” at most of the evaluative articles andimprove the scientific nature and credibility of the research conclusions.Finally,highlighting the rationality and feasibility of reforming strategiesby means of applicating strategies and evaluating secondly.Thedisadvantages of this study are the narrow coverage of gatheringareas’ types, poor survey schedule and the shortage of efficiency expertmatrixes,which need to be further optimizated in the follow-up studys.
