With continuous development of civil aviation industry,the contradiction between the increasing air transport demand and the limited airport resources becomes more and more prominent year by year.The key to solve the problem of demand and capacity mismatch lies in defining the function orientation of hub airports and differentiated route network.Therefore,how to determine the function orientation of hub airport and optimize route network is the main research content.On the basis of understanding the research status of domestic and international,the basic concept,main characteristics and main functions of hub airports are clarified,strategic function orientation of hub airports is elaborated,the existing problems and solutions of Chinese hub airports are obtained by comparing with foreign hub airports.Hub airport classification index is put forward multi-angle and comprehensive,40 hub airports in China is classified through three methods of comprehensive evaluation.Optimization model of the airline network is built with the objective of connectivity which reflecting the competitiveness of the hub airport route network,and with the qualitative constraint of function orientation and the air routes valuation,the quantitative constraint of the passenger flow which is predicted by the gravity model.Taking Xi’an xianyang international airport as an example,the route network optimization is analyzed.After the optimization of the route network,the connectivity is increased on the basis of the reduction of the flights total number,the route network is enhanced and the hub function is improved.
