The shipbuilding industry is an important support for the nation’s strategy of becoming to a strong ocean nation and a strong manufacturing country.After nearly 20 years of development,China has become one of the most important shipbuilding countries in the world.At the beginning of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan",China’s shipbuilding industry starts on the way towards the global shipbuilding power.This requires the shipbuilding companies to constantly improve the level of plan management,constantly shift to lean shipbuilding,reduce costs and increase efficiency so as to improve the competitiveness.It is particularly important whether the plan management is advanced or not.However,domestic and foreign scholars have less research on the application of the critical chain method in the plan management system of shipbuilding companies,and there are still deficiencies in guiding shipbuilding enterprises to optimize their plan management.It has become a topic to be solved by managers of shipbuilding companies and related scholars that how to apply the critical chain method to the plan management practice of shipbuilding enterprises and continuously improve the plan management efficiency.This thesis conducts practical research and analysis on the theories and methods related to the plan management technology of shipbuilding enterprises,analyzes and discusses the status quo and inadequacies of the multi-projects plan management system of the shipbuilding company D,and demonstrates the importance and necessity for shipbuilding companies to apply the critical chain method to enhance their multi-projects plan management.Based on the research and application of related scholars,this paper analyzes the critical chain technology and introduces that the critical chain of multi-projects should be determined by the project priority evaluation system,correlation analysis etc.to make the buffer management and scheduling more scientific and reasonable.And finally,this thesis studies the cases of three vessels under construction of the shipbuilding company D and verifies the proposed critical chain method to optimize the multi-projects plan and management of shipbuilding companies.The results show that the critical chain method is one of the technical methods that can be more effective in optimizing the plan management system of shipbuilding companies.It can better handle the resource conflicts and redundant time management problems that arise in the multi-projects plan management process.A scientific and effective plan management system can make the shipbuilding company’s plan implementation more accurate,ensureproject delivery,improve management efficiency and strengthen the competitiveness of the company.The innovations of this thesis are: First,based on the fact that shipbuilding companies still rarely use the critical chain method in production plan management practices and based on research and application of relevant scholars,the thesis studies the critical chain technology and proposes that the critical chain of multi-projects should be determined by the project priority evaluation system,correlation analysis etc.to make the buffer management and scheduling more scientific and reasonable.Second,the thesis successfully applies the critical chain method to shipbuilding company D’s existing shipbuilding projects.The conclusion shows the critical chain method can not only shorten the construction period,but also improve the utilization of bottleneck resources.This will provide positive references for shipbuilding companies to optimize the plan management system.
