The study of architectural names in the Book of Songs is much weaker than that of animals and plants. In The Book of Songs, compared with other architectural names, the number of residential buildings is larger and larger, but the research is still weak and has not received due attention.Studying the names of the residential buildings in the Book of Songs can help us to have a deep understanding of the origin and development of Chinese architecture, the etiquette culture of the Pre-Qin Dynasty and the poetry of the Book of Songs.Through a comprehensive investigation and annotation of the architectural names in the Book of Songs,we select the still-controversial and questionable residential building names, and use the “Documentary Analysis Method”,“Quadrument Evidence Method” and “Cross-Research Method” to make detailed research. The research is divided into two categories. One is that it has been identified as a residential building name, but the specific building is uncertain,so it needs to be verified.Such architectural names include “Guan” in ZhengFeng ZiYi,“Li” in ZhengFeng JiangZhongZi,“Ta” in QiFeng DongFangZhiRi,“Banwu” in QinFeng XiaoRong,“Taofu Taoxue” in DaYa Mian,“Wu Lou” in DaYa Yi,and “Qin” in DaYa SongGao,there are seven in all.The other is that whether the name itself is a residential building is uncertain,so it needs to be examined.Such architectural names include “Bei” in WeiFeng BoXi,“Pan” in WeiFeng KaoPan,“Fang” in WangFeng JunZiYangYang,“ZhongGou” in YongFeng QiangYouCi,“Lu” in DaYa XinNanShan, there are five in all.At the same time of textual research, clear Evolution Process from Primitive Cave-dwelling to Building Earth and Wood for House.Showing the architectural style of the various classes of the emperor, princes and civilians in the pre-Qin period.Understanding the Residential Characteristics of Different Regions, revealing the concept of hierarchical etiquette system,Yin-Yang and Five Elements, marriage etiquette system, sacrificial rites,Yanyue requirements and so on in the pre-Qin Society. Moreover,we have a deeper understanding of the tenor and meaning of poetry.
