The intelligent city means cities select and use the existing resources such as the thought,science,technology and models to achieve intellectualization based on its specific requirements,conditions and targets.The intelligent traffic is an important sub-system of the intelligent city.At present,the market of intelligent traffic increase continuously and quickly in Chinese cities.In recent years,the technology of satellite positioning and mobile communication has been applied to the monitoring and scheduling terminal for public traffic widely.The scheduling system of taxis adopts the traditional phone calling and mobile applications.The scheduling system of buses adopts the artificial scheduling.Most of the vehicle-mounted monitoring and scheduling terminals working with the other vehicle-mounted devices independently.Though the terminals of minority manufacturers have communicated with the other vehicle-mounted devices.It’s hard to promote from the engineering perspective,for the difference cities,difference peripherals and difference manufacturers use the difference interface of hardware and difference protocol of communication.This paper follows the methods of DFSS(Design for six sigma).Firstly,it analyzed and distinguished the market requirements.It used the QFD(Quality function deployment)to analyze the top five important technology points which effected the quality of this project.Then it designed the hardware and firmware of the device in detail,and implemented the top five important technology points.Finally,it did some experiments to test and verify.I proposed two new points of new technology based on the other scholars’ achievements in the research which can be applied to the intelligent traffic.1)Dynamic scheduling.The terminals mounted on taxis statistics the amount and times of business in difference zones and difference period,and submit the data to server for analyze.The server sends prompt message to terminals to note the driver has entered the saturated zone,and guides the driver to enter the unsaturated zones.2)The engineer implementation of communication with multi peripherals.As the host device,the monitoring and scheduling terminal communicate with the other vehicle-mounted devices(the meter,the dome light,the line plate,the message screen,the bus station broadcaster,the traffic statics unit and the coin box)via the 485 bus for collecting and setting uniformly.During the actual promotion of the projects,the terminal connects with a communication board to convert the protocol of the peripherals.It can achieve the high cohesion and low coupling in one module and reuse the code.This technology has been achieved in the public traffic system of some cities,Suzhou,Xining,Fuzhou,etc.It let the success rate of call taxi during the Peak Hours increasing about 20%.It can lift efficiency of the public traffic and simplify deployment process of vehicle-mounted terminals.
