The Status And Influencing Factors Of China's Equipment Manufacturing Industry Under The Global Value Chain

Since the 20 th century,with the development of technology and multilateral organizations,the international flow of commodities,talents,capital and technology has become more frequent.The integration of global markets and the international division of production have transformed the competition among products into enterprises.The competitive advantage of a country's industry is increasingly reflected in its position in the global value chain.In 2019,the Central Economic Work Conference of China decided to promote the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.As the pillar of the modern industrial system,the equipment manufacturing industry is the engine to promote industrial transformation and upgrading.The rise of China's equipment manufacturing industry in the global value chain is of great significance to the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure and future economic and technological development.In view of this,this paper starts from the global value chain theory,combined with the development of China's equipment manufacturing industry,and compares with the major competitors such as the United States,Germany and Japan in the international market.Further development provides references and recommendations.This paper takes the international trade data of China's equipment manufacturing industry from 1995 to 2017,and draws on Hausmann,Hwang,Rodrik et al.(2007)to study the status of national or enterprise global value chain,and calculate the export complexity of China's equipment manufacturing industry.On the basis of the empirical analysis,the relationship between export complexity,trade competitiveness and display comparative advantage indicators.The research results show that the export complexity index reflecting the status of the value chain represents “S” type fluctuation;the export complexity has a significant positive impact on trade competitiveness;the improvement of technology level will help improve China's equipment manufacturing.The industry's international competitiveness,but the reverse did not find a significant impact on the level of technology.To realize the global value chain status of China's equipment manufacturing industry,it is recommended to pay attention to the cultivation of high-end elements such as talents and technology,strengthen the development of equipment manufacturing related industries and productive service industries,and improve the independent innovation capability and brand value of science and technology.
