Since reform and opening-up,China's equipment manufacturing industry has been actively integrated into the global value chain and rapidly realized the upgrading of process and product.The level of industrialization has also improved significantly.However,China has entered the global value chain with the advantage of low-end factor endowment,and the speed of technology upgrading is relatively slow.At the same time,by setting up strict entry barriers such as import quality,safety and environmental protection,strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights and utilizing competitive price reduction among developing countries,the developed countries have increased the risk of”low-end lock"of China's equipment manufacturing industry in the global value chain and severely hindered its upgrading.It has become an urgent problem to be solved in the process of industrial transformation and upgrading for China how to transform”factor-driven'" into'innovation-driven"and realize the coordinated development of technology innovation and global value chain upgrading.By introducing the theory of system coupling,this paper shifts the research on the relationship between industrial technology innovation and global value chain upgrading from"unidirectional influencing"to''svstem coupling",based on theoretical and empirical analvsis,thus clearing the mechanism and evolution path of realizing the coupling.Taking China's equipment manufacturing industry as the research object,this paper provides scientific theoretical basis and guidance for China to break through the technological blockade and to climb to the top of the global value chain.Firstly,by introducing the analytical framework of system coupling theory,this paper makes a basic theoretical analysis of the coupling between industrial technology innovation and global value chain upgrading,studies the elements,coupling conditions and coupling objectives of the both systems,theoretically determines the coupling characteristics in many aspects and analyses the coupling mechanism and path.Secondly,based on the theory of entropy change and dissipative structure,the coupling mechanism between subsystems as well as the coupling mechanism and evolution path of the combine system coupled by the both subsystems are analyzed to reveal the inherent coupling law between the both subsystems.Thirdly,by constructing the coupling measurement model between subsystems and the dynamic coupling model the evolution model and the objectives coupling model of combine system,the coupling level of industrial technology innovation and global value chain upgrading reflectes to reveal the law and trend of coupling evolution.Finally,by building an evaluation index system of system coupling and using the relevant statistical data of China's equipment manufacturing industry,this paper makes an analysis on the situation of technology innovation and global value chain upgrading of China's equipment manufacturing industry.On this basis,measure the level of combine coupling between industrial technology innovation and global value chain upgrading to describe the evolution path.Logistic model is used to test the fitting effect of system coupling and predict the evolution direction.The key factors affecting the evolution of coupling are determined by the objectives coupling model,in order to provide reliable empirical support for the theoretical analysis of the paper.
