The Measurement Of The Global Value Chain Of China's Equipment Manufacturing Industry And Analysis Of Its Influencing Factors

With the arrival of a new round of technological revolution and industrial revolution,China's economic development is entering the “new normal”.China urgently needs to create new competitive advantages and realize the advancement from a manufacturing country to a manufacturing powerful country.The bottleneck restricting China from becoming a manufacturing power lies in the backwardness of equipment manufacturing industry.Therefore,research on equipment manufacturing will always be the focus of China's economic development in the future.In the process of globalization,what is the status of China's equipment manufacturing industry compared to developed countries in the global value chain? How to accurately measure the status of different industries in China's equipment manufacturing industry in the global value chain? How to improve the status of equipment manufacturing industry in the global value chain? These problems deserve our further theoretical exploration and empirical test.In response to the above issues,this paper is based on the export complexity index and input-output method to measure the status of the global value chain of various industries of equipment manufacturing industry.Secondly,based on the panel data from 2001 to 2015 in the equipment manufacturing industry,this paper empirically examines the influencing factors of China's equipment manufacturing industry's global value chain status.Finally,based on the research results,this paper points out the problems faced by various industries in China's equipment manufacturing industry in the development process,and puts forward corresponding policy recommendations.After theoretical analysis and empirical tests,this paper draws the following conclusions: firstly,from the perspective of enterprises with different ownership systems,private enterprises and state-owned enterprises in China are relatively inward-facing.The import and export trade of equipment manufacturing industry is dominated by foreign-funded enterprises.Secondly,from the results of the global value chain status measurement,the relatively high levels industries,such ascommunications equipment,computer and other electronic equipment manufacturing,electrical machinery and other equipment manufacturing have a low level of complexity,and also have shown negative growth.Thirdly,from the perspective of influencing factors,capital per person,human investment,R&D funds,foreign direct investment,and the proportion of state-owned enterprises all have a significant impact on enhancing the status of the global value chain of the equipment manufacturing industry.Fourthly,from the perspective of distinguishing the source of import,the import from Europe has a significant positive effect on improving the export complexity of China.
